His experiences range from property management to hands-on renovation of homes and an apartment building. Working alongside his commercial appraiser father, Mr. Hempler honed his skills in bookkeeping and accounting, uncovering a passion for the field that would eventually become his career focus.
Mr. Hempler’s expertise lies in analyzing financial statements and revitalizing struggling companies. His approach is grounded in empathy and understanding, as he knows firsthand the hurdles small businesses face. By founding Main Street Ledger, he created a firm offering accounting solutions, a pillar of support and guidance for construction businesses.
He resides in Apple Valley, Minnesota, with his wife and three children. Mr. Hempler’s life outside work includes camping, cooking, music, and home renovation. These personal interests add another layer to his connection with clients, many of whom share similar passions and challenges.

After completing his graduate degree from St. Edward’s University, Mr. Downing began his professional career in taxation, specializing in tax return preparation, strategy, and consulting. With the explosive growth of the real estate market in Austin, Texas, he soon worked within the private equity real estate investment and management arena. He began working in commercial real estate and eventually moved to multifamily assets.
After gaining invaluable accounting experience in the commercial and multifamily niches, Mr. Downing was hired by a real estate developer. He was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business’s financial operations there.
Mr. Downing has a proven track record of success in executive leadership roles, with over ten years of finance and accounting experience in real estate-related businesses. As a creative problem-solver, he is adept at strategic management and proactive and collaborative as a leader. He has ensured top-quality results in situations requiring adaptability and decisiveness to succeed. Mr. Downing is a licensed tax professional specializing in real estate partnerships and holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in accounting from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas.
